Gutters equipped with the T-Rex® system are closed and seamless, making them extremely strong while preventing debris from getting inside. However, in areas with dense vegetation, the gutter cleaning cycle accelerates significantly. Under these demanding conditions, the T-Rex® continuous hanger™ may sometimes allow micro-debris to enter, reducing its efficiency.
To address this, T-Rex® installers have developed access panels above gutter downspouts, allowing for easier maintenance. There are three ways to install these access panels.
The first method involves installing the gutter and the T-Rex® gutter protection system simultaneously. Once installed, a small section is cut directly into the gutter guard above the downspouts. The installer then covers this cut-out section using a piece of the Gutter Clean System®.
Since the downspout is the most common location for debris accumulation, leaving an access panel here allows for easier maintenance. Installers prefer the Gutter Clean System® because it screws into the front of the gutter and snaps into place at the back, making it easy to remove if needed.
To provide a more uniform solution, Alu-Rex developed its own standardized access panel. The T-Rex® access panel is available nationwide and is designed for easy installation and handling at ground level—just like the T-Rex® system itself.
This panel features an opening large enough for an arm to fit through, and it takes only a few seconds to remove its two small screws for access. Alu-Rex recommends installing these panels above downspouts and at gutter extremities, as these areas are most prone to debris accumulation and clogging.
In most cases, you may never need to use this access panel. However, it provides peace of mind by ensuring that the inside of your gutters remains accessible at all times for easy inspection and maintenance.
